At the end of the course...
By the end of the program, high school students will have:
Contributed to a STEAM artifact on an ecological challenge that showcases their “Transitional Design” thinking in connecting to an ecological challange and their own learning context.
Developed a strong sense of trust and belonging within their peer circles, measured through self-reported surveys and observations.
Experienced an increased sense of wellbeing (trust, belonging), measured through reflective and affective process assessment.
Opportunities to continue developing and showcasing their artifact through ie local exhibitions or other community engagement initiatives
Upon returning to their home schools, students will be able to:
Practice autonomous learning tools and support their peers who may be in need of resources or assistance.
Demonstrate a flexible and resilient mindset, transforming challenges into opportunities for personal and academic growth, aas well challanges they see in their class context or community.
The overall aim of the program is to empower high school students to explore circles of trust and belonging (restorative students circles pedagogy), where they can build the capacity to stay with and solve challenges using critical thinking and creativity as everyday learning processes.
Highchool students will be supported by team of teachers and community partners.
